Clay Pit Lane

A very different view of Claypit Lane to the one we know today. This was taken in 1961. In centre view is a large white industrial building, which was then the premises of R. and W. Dunne and Co. Ltd., wholesale cloth manufacturers. On the left, the entrance to S.H. Sharp and sons, fabric printers, is visible. Sharp and Sons was next door to Hepworths, which then became Ventura, and is now student accommodation.
