Old Post Office, Park Row

The foundation stone for this building was laid on September 2nd 1811 and it was opened in 1813 as the courthouse. The courts were moved to the Town Hall after it's opening in 1858 and the post office took over the building in 1861.

A new post office was opened in what was to become City Square in 1896 and the building shown was demolished the following year. The new post office has now closed and is being redeveloped.
