Kirkstall Bridge. View from Wyther Lane
7th July 1936. The photo is taken on Kirkstall Bridge facing slightly uphill to where the bridge meets with Leeds and Bradford Road (left) and Bridge Road (right). The road (Wyther Lane) is cobbled with pavements either side. There is an electric lamppost to the centre right of the picture with a factory chimney and residential houses partially concealed by the bridge wall in the background (Bridge Road side). In the centre left background, you can make out an entrance, obviously leading to steps or a slope walk with a reading 'Kirkstall Station'. The bridges run over the weir and the LMS (London Midland Scottish) railway line.
