Arthington Road, field
8th December 1938. Field off Arthington Road with derelict tramcar in the middle.

User Comments:

Paul Haywood

Although the tram is located near Leeds, I believe this tram was originally built for Sheffield in 1900 and sold to the Yorkshire Woollen District Tramways for their routes around Batley and Heckmondwike in 1920. That system closed in 1934.

If i am not mistaken, this field was use as a camp site for tents and caravans. In the early Fifties, Some friends and I used to camp here at school holidays and weekends.
