Knostrop Hall was built by Adam Baynes (1620-1670). He was an officer in the Parliamentary Army during the Commonwealth period and became MP for Leeds in 1644. He married Martha Dawson and they lived at Knostrop Hall. It became the home of Leeds artist Atkinson Grimshaw in 1870. It was demolished in 1960. This room interior shows the oak panelling, plaster frieze around the room and ceiling detail.
