1950. View of Alwoodley Old Hall situated to the side of Eccup Reservoir, now Sandmoor Golf Course. It was the seat of the Franks family then much later in the 1700s the Lane Fox family. Prior to demolition in 1969 it had lain empty for same time.

Although not elaborate this building is still somewhat impressive, with its gables and stone framed windows. After standing for approximately two hundred years it was cast aside like an old boot - yet another casualty of "Authoritarian Vandalism". Could it have been saved. Or did it fall victim to the blinkered "Concrete and Glass Mindset" of the time.
