7th September 2000. View of Fearnville Sports Centre with the car park to the left and the grassed area with flower beds in the foreground. The Sports Centre is on Oakwood Lane.

the sports centre was built on top of the fearnville pit heap which was coal and pig iron slag heap last century. The rail tracks ran to as far as coldcotes pits which became a school.
