Undated Postcard view of Colton Road showing late nineteenth century, now Grade II listed, stables and coach house on the west side. They belonged to the Manor House. A horse and cart can be seen in Colton Road with two men. The gates of the Manor House are visible on the right. Published by Parkinson and Roy Studios, Kelsall Street, Leeds.

I love this picture. As I have commented before on other photographs I used to live in this road just below the old coach houses. The road was lined with trees all the way up to the church wall. We as chidren used to collect conkers every year. I remember one bad winter when the snow lay packed for ages and on a sunny day glistened like fairyland. Walking to Colton School between walls of snow that the snow plow had moved seemed to us magical. Happy happy days
