1925 A yard off what was then Park Land and is now the Headrow. At this time, Victoria Gardens had not been created in front of the Municipal Buildings, which housed the Central Library, Art Gallery and police offices. A block of property including this yard which was adjacent to Whartons Hotel public house, was demolished to create the open space on the Headrow.
