Description:
1911 Finishing touches are being made to a bust of Lord Airedale (James Kitson), in 1897 he became the first Lord Mayor of Leeds. The sculpture was presented to Leeds by Sir William Middlebrook and is in Leeds City Art Gallery. On the left is a cast of Frederick Dawson, pianist. Behind the bust of Lord Airedale is a memorial plaque for Phil May, artist, born in Wortley.
