Description:
Undated. View of interior of St. John's Church. The Church consists of the Nave, two side aisles, a spacious Chancel, Vestry and Porch. The Vestry is the chapter house of York Minster in miniature and has a fine effect from the high road with its high pitch roof, on the point of which is a rich gilt double cross. There are 35 stained glass windows in the Chancel window showing 10 different coats of arms.

I have been to this Church many times for mid night mass on Christmas Eve. I havent been for many years as I am no longer in the area but there use to be an old man that use to sing really loud. He was known as a doctor and lived in one of the old houses on Calvery lane, Does anyone know if he still attends mid night mass he will be really old now, but anyone that use to go will remember him for sure, a nice old man but always sang much louder than anyone else and always out of tune.
