14th January 1928 Entrance to Pine Court on Kirkgate. On the right is number 84 Kirkgate P. Cornick optician, with the former premises of Charles Clayforth. Wholesale grocers to the left. A young boy holding a parcel stands on pavement.

P(ercival) Cornick was my paternal granfather. His son, Leonard, also trained as an optician but went on to become a jazz musician (double bass), working mostly in and around London. I am researching the family history and would be pleased to hear from anyone who remembers the family.

On the 22nd of Sept 1866 Jacob Whiteley Pulford (a son of my Gt,Gt,Gt Grandfather),and Fanny Marshall were married,Jacob(24yrs)lived in Pine Court and Fanny (22yrs) nearby in Royal Oak Yard. Jacob's sister Jane Pulford was my Gt,Gt,Grandmother.
