Boar Lane, from Briggate
1866 View of Boar Lane from Briggate. Bissington, hatter and hosier can be seen on Briggate and Pullans central shawl and mantle warehouse. This corner was later to be Saxons shoes, Leeds bargain corner. This was taken just prior to the South side of Boar Lane being demolished in 1868 in the Boar Lane improvement scheme which widened the street from 21 feet to 66 feet. Two people can be seen at the corner and one in Pullans doorway.
