16th February 1937 To the left, advertising hoarding and the entrance to yard, premises of M.Yeardley Cooper and Cask maker. Cross John Street is running across the centre of the view. At the end of the street is a tobacco shop. A van is parked in the road.

My Grandmother was living at No 3 Cross John Street with her parents(her father was a steel fettler ?)in May 1931 when she married my Grandfather at St Francis of assisi church (not sure when it was demolished)on David Street,Holbeck.
