Hawksworth Village
Description:
Undated. Situated between Guiseley and Baildon, occupying an elevated position on the edge of the moors. This is a view of the village street. The house on the left was known as Ivy Cottage and is now called Cobblestones.

The house on the left now called Cobblestones, formerly known as Ivy Cottage, was purchased by retired farmer Fred Davey at the sale of the Fawkes Estate in 1919.

Comment:
The house on the right is now called Hill House though as Cobblestones it was probably named because of the cobbled area at the front. This building was originally the forge despite part of the converted wheelwrights sheds opposite now being called Vale Forge with an anvil outside. A lot of information about the village is available in the Village Design Statement and a History of Menston and Hawksworth by Alistair Laurence now sadly out of print.
