8th February 1938. View of Golden Lion Hotel on junction of Lower Briggate with Swinegate. Business can be seen occupying lower level of Hotel building. The Hotel was designed by Thomas Ambler in 1879 and built on part of the site of the Commercial Hotel Coaching Inn.
