10th June 1939. To the left is 152 Green Lane, then shop premises, business of WR Jowett, baker. The window has an advertisement for Golden Brown Hovis, the bread for you? To the right is Station Road.

I remember this as Slack's in the 1950's. I think it had also been Wormleighton's. Both were bakers shops. Next door towards Cross Gates was Russel's newsagents, then a gap, then a fish and chip shop.
