Description:
17th April 1965. Civic Hall in centre, gardens to front, car park at rear. Portland Way on left. Brotherton Wing of Leeds General Infirmary bottom left. Leeds Metropolitan University, upper left. To the right, Portland Crescent, then Cookridge Street. The white tower block Kitson College now the Leeds College of Technology. Below this, Leeds Institute (Civic Theatre). Designed by Cuthbert Brodrick: opened as Leeds Mechanics Institute in 1868.
