At the right hand edge of the right hand poster you can see the Leeds boundary sign, consisting of the Leeds coat of arms and the word LEEDS above. The photographer was stood in the West Riding, outside Leeds, where the licensing hours were different. The West Riding closing time of public houses was 30 minutes later than Leeds which allowed many a local drinker to make a dash from the likes of The Crooked Billet, Red Lion etc in Hunslet to The Queen Hotel in Stourton for example, thus gaining an extra half hour boozing time.
