This is definitely the view up through the bridge towards York Rd,In 1946 I lived on Wybeck Avenue, sweets along with most other things were still on ration, I recall a lad running along Wykebeck ave with a bulging jersey, I asked him what was going on, he said ""a lorry has overturned on Wykebeck valley road and lost its load of sweets, I joined a mob of kids all running in the same direction, we arrived at the junction of Wykebeck valley road and York Rd, a blue ( Cadburys ) van was on its side doors hanging open all around were chocolates and toffees lying on the road, some one who could have been the driver was wielding a broom aroun his head, as he spun around trying to keep a hundred baying kids away from his load other kids would dive in and fill pockets or jersey rolled up around their waists, later in my life I was to see hyenas attacking a zebra in similar fashion,I took home as much as I could carry, some sights one never forgets
