Thorpe Stapleton, ruin
25th NOv 1927 View of ruin.

This looks as if it had been a fairly substantial structure. Had it been part of a larger, perhaps, earlier fortified building? Part of an old manor house? What had it been? There is another picture on Leodis entitled "Thorpe Stapleton, ruin", but that one appears to be more akin to a church-like structure. It appears that both pictures were taken on the same day (25-11-1927). Could this imply that both were in close proximity? Were they connected in some way? Have a look at 200296_38875979
