The south side borders Jack Lane while the northside adjoins the old wagon road from Middleton Colliery to Leeds. Colliery owners paid Leeds Pottery £7 annually for the line to run through the yard and subsided the price of coal. However the pottery gained great advantages from wagons travelling from the colliery direct to the kiln's. Kiln's, sheds and offices are south east of the line is located on the north west. On the far right of the plan is a large residence now divided into two poperties.
