Description:
1899 Image taken by Alfred E Mattison during the 1899 official enquiry into Leeds Insanitary areas. Image shows a street with workshops on the left. The road is littered with debris while in the foreground and distance large horsedrawn carts stand empty. Clothes hang on a line stretched across the street while a man and children are visible in period dress. The two men in bowler hats are inspectors.
