Aerial View, Inner Ring Road, Construction
Undated, Image shows an aerial view of the City Centre. On the left of the roundabout a multi-storey building is under construction on Park Lane with the former clothing factory owned by Sir John Barren behind. On the right is the new Inner Ring Road built in the mid 1960s under construction. Today Clarendon Wing is built over the tunnel. On the right of the roundabout is Brotherton House the former Police HQ while directly above is Headrow clothes, now demolished. Near the top on the far right can be seen the Civic Hall and the original Mandela Gardens with the Town Hall below and the grassed area of Park Square further down. Below the roundabout is a carpark, now the site of the International Pool. The roundabout itself has been replaced by the Leeds Inner Ring Road and Westgate Point.
