Undated, View looks through the entrance of Mabgate Mills out towards Mabgate. Mabgate Mills was the location for a variety of businesses including clothiers, glaziers and printers. Mabgate Mills is now used as Leeds Christian Home For Adults with Autism.

When I was an apprentice painter I was working on this building,one day a large truck with a load of glass from Pilkingtons Glass Works arrived, the yard Foreman told the driver to go round to the other entrance, the driver would not as he said 'he was in a hurry', the Foreman was mad but said 'o.k'. When the stockmen had taken the load off, the driver could not get the truck under the arch because the truck had risen up and the weight was off, the driver had to let the tiers down to get out then wait for the breakdown truck to blow them up again. I guess he did'nt save any time.

my second job in 1970 was at ogden taloring the nost soul distrying job only stayed there 6 days before i found my self a job as a painter
