Description: 1986
This fish pond or ornamental lake was constructed around 1820, when the estate was owned by Richard Wormald. Ice was taken from the pond in winter and stored in the ice-house to preserve food. It was sometimes referred to as Paul's Pond. The Paul family were the last owners of the estate before it was sold to Leeds City Council in 1954.
