The Smithy, Cookridge Lane
Description:
1986 This smithy is mentioned by Ralph Thoresby in his history of Leeds 'Ducatus Leodiensis'. In the 17th century it was in use, the actual smiths shop was the single storey building on the right. The windows were a later insertion into apertures. In 1875 it closed as a smithy, but the equipment was used by tenants of the house until the 1930s.
