1983 This photograph was taken in March 1983 showing the birth place of Alfred Austin who was born 1835 and died 1913. He was a barrister until his fathers death then he became a writer. In 1896 he was created poet laureate following Alfred, Lord Tennyson. Ashwood was built around 1836 in Gothic revival style.
