1964 The main focus of this aerial view are the two railway stations which served Leeds. Central Station, on Wellington Street is in the bottom left corner. Whitehall Road is on the right of the station. Moving across, the River Aire is in the centre as it flows under the City Station to emerge at Granary Wharf just before Leeds Bridge. This underground section is known as the Dark Arches. In the bottom right corner part of the Leeds-Liverpool canal is visible. Following the railway line to the top right corner, the Parish Church is to the right, this is approaching Marsh Lane area.
