7th October 1963 The property to the right of this view, with bricked up windows and door is marked on the 1954 Ordnance Survey map as number 1 Pollard Lane. To the left is the boundary wall of another former property which had adjoined the back Delph Cottage.

My Gt. Gt. Grandparents were living here at the time of the 1871 census, with their two eldest children. By 1877 they had four more children, and late in 1877 my Gt. Gt. Grandfather died there of typhoid fever at the age of 33.
