Lowell Street
Undated, Image shows the rear entrances and yards of two through terraced houses numbers 41 and 43 Hough Top. On the left of the image is a garage facing onto Lowell Street. On the roof stand two metal lifts, a car would drive partially onto these so that work could be done on the underneath.

User Comments:

Mark Barnes

The metal lifts featured on the shed roof are in fact ramps and are still available to this day at Halfords and any other reputable car spares outlets.

The house on the left was owned by mrs Ackroyd senior, her next of kin living in Lowell Terrace. The house on the right was owned by Mrs Clough whose next of kin lived at 9 Lowell road.
