June 1967 This image shows people sitting underneath the Potts and Son Clock at Oakwood, located at the junction of Princes Avenue and Roundhay Road. Originally sited in the New Market Hall of Kirkgate Market, the clock was moved in 1912.

Every schoolday a group of girls including myself would meet at Oakwood Clock. We would sit there, in our olive green uniforms, waiting for the school bus, which arrived at 8.40am, to take us to Allerton High School on King Lane.
