Undated, Image shows the entrance to Rose Cottage a small one storey building surrounded by an overgrown garden. Visible on the right is a converted 18th century windmill known as The Round House at the top of Sugarwell Hill. This was converted into a house in the 1880s.

I lived in the windmill at the back of Rose Cottage in 1946/47/48.I would say that Rose Cottage was in Potternewton Mount not lane.

Mr Bedford is correct - Rose Cottage is on Potternewton Mount. I now live in the old windmill 'The Round House'.

Potternewton Lane before Scott Hall Road was constructed came across where the roundabout is now and turned left down the View and right to run past Rose Cottage and the Windmill, following what is now called the Mount, before turning left and becoming a footpath down to Meanwood Road, which is still there. There was no Potternewton Lane between what is Scott Hall Road and what is now Stainbeck Road, nor was there a Stainbeck Road. See Tracks In Time
