Description: 31st January 1963.
Image shows old brick properties located on Belmont Grove, off Clarendon Road. The double-fronted property with bay windows to the ground and first floors is numbered as 18 Belmont Grove, also housing a flat numbered as 18a. These dwellings had access in Chorley Lane and Leighton Lane at the rear. Next right is number 16, a larger brick built property approached by a flight of steps. This had been converted into four flats. At the left edge is a substantial house numbered as 12 Clarendon Road. In a directory for 1947 it was listed as Cornhill House, the premises of Cornhill Insurance Ltd., but was later divided into flats. The buidings in this image were demolished when the Clarendon Wing of Leeds General Infirmary was built and the site is nowadays part of the car park.
