My parents Marjorie and Dennis were the owners of the shop on the right, at the time of the photograph(1968) my brother Paul had probably just been born, and I would have being 18 years old. My sister Janis and myself had a attic each for our bedrooms, and our parents had the one main bedroom, the toilet was outdoors, half way up the street.

My second oldest sister Carol can still remember that my parents, Marjorie and Dennis, used to let one of our neighbours use our Bath once a week, as we were the only ones in our block of of houses who had one.

rom 1944 to 1955 I lived across the road from these shops, in Crompton Terrace. The owner of the chemist shop was a Mr. Passmore - he was the only person I know who had a three wheeled van.

The information is not exactly accurate. I lived in Abbott Road from 1940 to 1965. The Road in the picture is Armley Road. Abbot Road (a back to back cobbled street ) was two streets further up from the chemists Shop. Regards to Jean ,who I remember, as also one of our mutual friends Barry Fogden ! Don't remember a post office at the shop next to the Chemists. Remember the shop was used by Lacey's then taken over by Potters ( cobblers and leather goods ? ).

Cedric Pearson's observation is very accurate, this is not Abbott Road. This is/was Abbott Place. To the right is/was Abbott Street, with Abbott Road coming next. To the immediate left of this scene, is Marsden Radiators.

I remember the chemists shop on the corner which was owned by Mr Passmore, it was also a post office. Barry Heseltine lived in this street, in the next street lived Alan Hacket. I lived in Castleton Terrace between 1943 and 1954 and went to Armley Council School May 2009
