1956 View looking at the junction of Mabgate and Ward's Fold. On the left edge the gable end of the Black Horse Inn no.58 Mabgate is visible. Moving right is no.54/56 Mabgate, Iredale Cafe, proprietor listed as Walter Price. Next to the Black Horse is a no.3 Ward's Fold, a large property. No.7 is visible on the right. This property was the White Swan Inn up until the early 1940s.

In late 40's early 50's Mary Watson had a bookies shop here before betting became legal. I can remember it was forever getting raided by the police
