20th May 1960 Image shows four back-to-back terraced houses with a yard on the left originally built to house the shared outside toilet. On the far right nos. 20 and 22 are separated by a space allowing access to Hugh Street. Childrens toy prams are discarded in the street while clothes hang above the cobbled street on washing lines strung between rows of terraced houses. Above the houses can be seen the spire of St Mary of Bethany Church of England. Consecrated in 1886 it was closed on 6th November 1972 due to population changes.
