Photograph at Thwaite Mills showing repairs to the waterwheel. Two waterwheels are at the mill turned by water from the River Aire they used to power machinery at the site. They were designed and built by Thomas Hewes. Both wheels have a diametre of 5.6 metres, are made of iron with wooden buckets of elm. At this time the mill was being restored by enthusiasts through the Thwaite Mills Society.
