Undated. Twin seat earth closet toilets at Thwaite Mills. They were demolished in 1980 during restoration work at the site. The Mills had been owned by the Horn family from 1872 - 1976. According to family members you could hold hands on them if you liked!

My friend Neville Langton,lived in the cottages at the mill ,known as Dandy Row.I remember visiting his house and being gobsmacked by the side by side,earth closets,and this in the late sixties!
