Bill from Foxholes Colliery to Thwaite Mills
Description:

The little hole near the middle of the page, would have originally read(Bed). As in the(Black Bed)seam.Although i did'nt work in the black bed my dad (Smuel Mitchell)did. He told me the seam was only about 18 inches thick, and they had to work laying on their sides. He also said the roof was like (Bell Metal).I have been told that(black Bed)coal was of the highest quality.Comment made 20 Aug 2006.

The hole in the middle of the page did not have any writing under it as the previous word says "SLACK" which is the poorest grade of coal.
