c. 1960. View of the weir at Thwaite Mills. At this time the mill was owned by the Horn family who worked the mill until 1976 when the weir collapsed in a flood. Stourton can be seen beyond the weir in the photograph.

My dad used to take my son "elephant hunting" down near here when my son was about three years old, back in the ealy 70s. My mum didn't find it funny though!
