Description:
4th June 1964 Bewerley Street Infant School as seen from the rear in Kirkland Place. The perimeter is surrounded by a high brick wall beyond which the outside toilets are situated. This was the very first school in Leeds to be built by the School Board which was formed in 1871, and George Corson was the architect. By the 1950s, the school was for Juniors (7 – 11 Years), the Infants having moved to a school on Hunslet Hall Road.
