Barleycorn Street nos. 12 - 18, Wortley Lane
8th March 1965 Terraced houses in Barleycorn Street situated opposite opposite the Crown Chemical Company, off camera right. Houses are numbered from left to right, 18 to 12. The shops on Wortley Lane are numbered from the left, 28 to 22.

User Comments:

John Firth

I was born at number 14 in 1954. Number 12 and 14 were through houses to St John's Place (next street to the left. The shop at the left of the picture was a clog maker nicknamed “Clogger Beck”. Number 12, a man named Parker fenced off an area to keep chickens. Top right off picture was the Barleycorn Hotel. This picture looks like it was taken from just in front of the Alexander public house.
