Scott Hall Farm, situated off Potternewton Lane, the area is now a sports field at the junction with Scott Hall Road. This photo, probably from around the 1900s shows threshing underway on the farm. Female operatives in protective clothing are standing on the thresher, with several male workers. On the right is a steam engine, the Leeds firm of Fowler manufactured the steam driven ploughing machine which could be adapted for threshing as here or a variety of uses.
