I was brought up in Winker Green,we were all happy there,I remember my friends the Lee Family Mary,Jack,Donald,denis,Harry.We sat in their house pegging out rugs.Nancy Wilson,Mary Whitaker,the Newton familythe Gilberts,Abrahams,Dorothy Raper,& Iris Alice Walker,Irene Gilbank lived in Theaker Lane,and came round to play HOp Scotch,skipping,whip and top,marbles,"button a go"cigarette card games We all used to do corking wool,and play piz ball ,other ball games. No expensive toys,but we were all happy playing shops,and schools,we had a carnival in May,with a qheen,and marched round the streets singing and had tea afterwards with the penies we coolected
