Description:
25th January 1968 On the left is the junction with Spring Grove Avenue, number 33 Hyde Park Road is at this corner, a former shop. Number 35 is the house set back from the pavement, in the centre. Various posters are on the side wall of number 33, the top left is for Double Diamond beer, to the right 'Posters Tell People'. Bottom right is one of the famous Heinz slogans 'Turn today into a Heinz Souper day'. Bottom right the message is 'Join the tea set'.

This little shop on the left was a hardware shop selling shovels, coal bricks and firelighters , and bundles of wood chips.

Sadly there does not seem to be any photographs of further down from this photo, as on the same side was a nice parade of shops including a pharmacy with three huge bottles of coloured liquid , which always attracted us as children. The nearest picture that I can see is where Burley Lodge Road comes in and with Wilkinson's on the corner. Then it jumps to this picture of Spring Grove Ave.
