Undated, This view is described as Austhorpe Hill and is postmarked March 1926. This footpath was one of several in the area and ran in the vicinity of Austhorpe Lodge. The message on the back of this postcard states that this is 'the prettiest walk in the district on the way to Whitkirk'.

We knew this as Appleyard's Hill, after the name of the farmer who lived in Austhorpe Hall. The farmer at the time was called Chapman
