1928. View taken from the corner of Briggate and Lower Headrow, across the junction with Briggate to the left and New Briggate to the right looking along Upper Headrow. Burton's, tailors, can be seen at numbers 85 to 87 Briggate at the corner with the Upper Headrow. On the opposite corner is number 1 New Briggate the premises of Allan Schofield, tobacconist, with Edward Skelton, hosier at number 3. The shops to the right on Upper Headrow were to be demolished for the building of Lewis's.
