c.1936. View shows commercial properties on Oakwood Lane. On the left is number 391 Oakwood Lane, the Fearnville Stores, run by Thomas Railton Blewitt. This shop was licensed to sell alcohol, tobacco and patent medicines. Number 391 stands at the junction of Dib Lane with Oakwood Lane (Dib Lane is off camera, left). A bicycle leans against the window below the Tetley's sign. Next door is the Dib Lane Post Office, business of Philip S. Underwood at number 393. Mr Underwood was a newsagent and stationer who also sold tobacco and confectionery.
