As a child i was brought up in scothall rd which runs to the right no 59.One day on my way to sheepscar school, aged about 8 yrs at the time.I decided to play around. You can see at the bottom of those steps leading up to the house two low flat brick pillars with a flat concrete slab on each.Well i was jumping from the right one to the left one, tripped over my loose shoe lace and hit the left slab with my chin.Fortunately my eldest brother (Ronald Joseph Mitchell)later to become the second Leeds man to be killed in Korea Sept 1950,was following me to school and rushed me to school then on to the dispencary in North st where i had several stitches.I have the scar to this day age well 69 in 4 days time.

I would be interested in knowing the date of construction, but think the building may well have been designed by my great uncle, George C Robb FRIBA, who was working for the Housing Dept. at the time, and designed Shaftesbury House in Beeston, Leeds.

I worked with a woman who lived in this building. Her name was Sophie Kessler and we worked at M. Brown's clothing factory on Buslingthorpe Lane. We did not get along at all and IK once tried to hit her with an office chair. That was in 1962.
